A good. Popcorn is a tangible item, unlike a service, which is an action you do for someone else.

Who were some of the early producers of popcorn?
The Indian people in the America's many thousands of years ago.

Identify where most of the popcorn in the United States is produced.
The Midwest. The climate and soil are excellent for growing corn. There are industrious farmers (human resources) who know how to grow corn.

Where are most of the consumers?
The Midwest, with Milwaukee and Minneapolis the top popcorn eating cities.

Describe the different capital resources used in the story to cook popcorn.
Native Americans used clay pots and sticks. The children in the story used an oven and metal pan.

What productive resources do you think farmers need today to produce popcorn?
Tractors, plows, land, seed, fertilizer, water, sun, farmer’s labor, etc.

Where are popular places to buy popcorn in the United States?
Movies, circuses, ball games, county fairs.

Extra Credit. The story says that 10% of popcorn is sold as seed to other countries. What do we call products, such as popcorn, which are sold to other countries?
